The Amelia Center - Children's Hospital
Losing a loved one can bring overwhelming grief to both children and adults. Knowing that you are not alone can help to ease the pain and begin the healing process. The Amelia Center is a special environment in which you can express all of your emotions and work through your grief. The center provides individual and group counseling facilitated by trained volunteers and staff members.

The Amelia Center also provides grief training for caregivers and has resources available on topics of grief and loss.

Little Ones' Memory Garden

Many parents who lose a child to miscarriage, stillborn, newborn death or death within the first year feel that their loss is not accepted in the same way as the death of an older child might be. Oftentimes, they do not have a grave site to visit.

Families and friends of families who have experienced a loss have joined together to build a beautiful, peaceful place to go to remember their little one(s) and a sanctuary in which they can begin to heal. This special place is located at the Botanical Gardens in Mountain Brook. The site is presently under construction and fundraising is underway. For more information, please contact Stephanie Reyner at 205-981-1937.
